The Journal was founded in 1956. Before 1998, it was out under the titles: “Vestsi Akademii navuk BSSR. Seryya fizika-tekhnichnykh navuk” (Proceedings of the Academy of Sciences of BSSR. Physical-technical series, ISSN 0002-3566), published from 1956 to 1991, and “Vestsi Akademii navuk Belarusi. Seryya fizika-tekhnichnykh navuk” (Proceedings of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Physical-technical series, ISSN 1024-5901), published from 1992 to 1998. Since 1998 — it comes under its actual title.

The Journal publishes the results of studies, conducted at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (or other Belarusian and foreign science institutions and universities) in the main branches of physical and technical sciences. The Journal is included in the List of Journals for Publication of the Results of Dissertation Research in the Republic of Belarus and in the Database of Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).
